Your Purchase Plants Trees

In Fall of 2020 we quietly started a tree planting initiative to help “neutralize” our carbon footprint that's created from the natural and necessary parts of running an online business – mostly shipping. Since starting, your purchases have planted over 400 trees!

When we started looking for an eco-project, we knew we wanted it to stay in line with our mission of empowering women to take life's lemons and make lemonade. When we found Eden Reforestation Project we were thrilled! Eden Reforestation Project is a world leader in tree planting. They don't just plant trees and forget about them. They employ local people to plant the trees, to care for them long term, to protect them from damage, and to study their effects. The tree planting program provides much needed living wages to people living in extreme poverty.

Madagascar is more than just an island from an animated movie. It’s a nation with over 200,000 species of plants and animals that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. But more than 90% of Madagascar’s original forests have been destroyed, displacing entire animal species and taking away the Malagasy’s ability to farm and live on the land. Entire mangrove estuaries are gone, leaving the bare earth to wash away into the sea.

Your purchases support the non-profit Eden Reforestation Projects as they continue to reforest the island. Eden are world leaders in responsible reforestation, having already planted 265 million trees and created 2.6 million work days for local communities.

1 order = 1 tree planted

We plant a tree every time you place an order!

Why mangroves? Restoring mangroves is a major natural climate solution. They store four times as much carbon as a tropical rainforest. Three quarters of all tropical fish are born amongst their roots. Learn more about mangrove forests in this cool video:
